To mark its 50th anniversary year, Cumbria Tourism has teamed up with the county’s leading grant maker, Cumbria Community Foundation, to launch a new charitable fund to help kickstart people’s careers in tourism and hospitality.

Recognising the barriers faced by some as they contemplate a career in the sector, the Cumbria Tourism 50th Anniversary Fund, administered by the Foundation, will help people aged 16 and over access career opportunities in tourism and hospitality by providing financial support for specialist equipment, training, study materials and travel costs, among other things. 

Cumbria Tourism has set a fundraising target of £50,000 to help grow the fund, and during 2024, it will hold a series of fundraising events and activities to help meet the target.
